About the Farm

We established our flock in 1997 with a view to keep vacant fields from returning to seed. We began with three ewes and now average twenty to twenty-five ewes. Over the years we have consistently sought to improve the flock by selection for twinning, carrying capacity, good mothering abilities, milk production, and resistance to disease. All our brood ewes are themselves twins and carry twins with reasonable consistency and raise their lambs with minimal assistance.

Along with being currently enrolled in the Voluntary Scrapie Flock Certification Program, our entire flock carries at least one resistant (R) gene to Scrapie, our present stud ram is doubly resistant (RR), and all our lambs are tested by GeneCheck. We guarantee that any lamb purchased from our flock will carry at least one resistant (R) gene.

Although our flock is not Certified Organic, our farm meets or exceeds the current Federal Standards for an organic farm. We do feed our flock grain and hay that is not organically raised due to cost and availability in our area. We use no biologically engineered products. No antibiotics mixed in with the feed, no growth-inducing hormones. When you buy a lamb from us, that’s what you get. Wholesome, pure lamb.
